Google’s YouTube Store will reportedly make on-demand premium streaming movies available from next week.
This is made possible by deals with Sony Pictures Entertainment, Universal and Warner Bros., according to a report on The Wrap.
While Google has commented that movies have been available on the YouTube store for more than a year, this will mark the first time that premium content will be available on demand. This will allow YouTube to compete directly with similar over-the-top (OTT) offerings from Netflix and Apple’s iTunes.
