Advanced Television reports that six Hollywood studios – Sony, Time Warner, 20th Century Fox and Walt Disney – are suing Internet movie-rental site Zediva because they believe it is infringing their rights.
Zediva streams movies shortly after they are available on DVD but weeks before legitimate sites such as Netflix.
The studios maintain Zediva needs a specific licence to play the DVDs, which they deem to be a public performace.
