It’s always encouraging for the South African film industry when locally-produced films are released theatrically. There are currently three South African films on circuit, the newest being the horror film, The Unforgiving. This film is being released by Indigenous Films and has made R121,559 after two weeks.
Another Indigenous Films release has proved to be a megahit – Schuks Tshabalala’s Survival Guide to South Africa is still on release after 14 weeks and has made R37.3m.
Stefanie Sycholt’s Themba is still in the Ster-Kinekor Top 8 after seven weeks and has a cumulative box office of R153,008.
