The award-winning South African film, Shirley Adams (directed by Oliver Hermanus), opened on the weekend of 13 to 15 August in sixth spot on Ster-Kinekor’s Top 8. The film made R22,881.
Meanwhile, another South African film, Stefanie Sycholt’s Themba, is hanging on to eighth spot on Ster-Kinekor’s Top 8. It has made R139,277 after five weeks of release.
Leon Schuster’s Shuks Tshabalala’s Guide to Surival in South Africa is still on circuit after 12 weeks, having made a whopping R37,333,240 to date.
The biggest earner over the weekend was new release Step Up 3 (including 3D). It made R4,241,717.
