ROSCAR call for entries

The Wild Talk Africa Festival, which will run in Cape Town from 28 to 31 March 2011 at Spier Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, is calling for entries for its wildlife awards, the ROSCARS.

The award ceremony will take place on 30 March and will pay tribute to filmmakers for their outstanding contribution to advancing an understanding of our natural world.

Four new categories have been added to the ROSCARS: The Expedition/Adventure Award, The Short Film Award, The Presenter Award, and The Alternative Broadcast Award.
The other categories are:         

  • The Best of the Festival Award
  • The Music Award
  • The Cinematography Award
  •  The Limited Budget Award
  • The Best Children’s Natural History Production Award
  • The Best Environmental Production Award
  • The Editing Award             
  • The Best Script Award
  • The Best Series Award
  • The Best Sound Design for a Natural History Production Award
  • The Best Newcomer Award
  • The Best African Production Award
  • The Judge’s Choice Award

* The Wild Talk Africa definition of Natural History encompasses wildlife, a natural habitat, ecology or humankind’s relationship with the natural environment and with animals.
