The Peer-Raben-Music-Award, for the best music in a short film which launched last year, has called for entries. The award organisers are interested in film scores where the relationship between the narration and the music and sound is innovative and dramaturgically clear.
All short films which were completed after 1 January 2009, or which had their premiere after 1 January 2009, are eligible for submission. All films with a maximum duration of 15 minutes, and in any industry standard format, will be considered. There are no restrictions regarding country of production, genre, or content. The film music must mainly have been written for the film. Submission for the Peer-Raben-Music-Award is also possible via the online-platform reelport (www.reelport.com). The prize is worth 1.500 euro. The modalities for submission can also be found on the SoundTrack_Cologne homepage www.soundtrackcologne.de.
Entry deadline for the competition is 30 July 2010. The twelve finalists will present their work (films, compositions) to the jury and the audience. The prize will be awarded at the official gala in Cologne on 27 November 2010.
The call for entries for the European Talent Award will be published within the next days. The applicants have to create a new soundtrack to a short film that will be available for download on www.soundtrackcologne.de shortly.
