The Guardian reports that while almost half (about 42%) of the UK TV viewing audience watching the 2010 FIFA World Cup will be women, most of the ads shown during the 64 matches will be focused on men.
It is predicted that an England football match during the World Cup will be one of the highest-rated female shows of the year.
A 30-second ad run on ITV during England’s group matches against the USA and Algeria on ITV is likely to cost about £300,000. Ads in non-England group matches run from £20,000 to £70,000.
