Advertising and marketing campaigns related to the 2010 FIFA World Cup now have a chance to enter the Loerie Awards, which has granted an extension for such entries until 13 July.

Work eligible for the extension includes all brand communication that is in one way or another related to the hosting of the World Cup in South Africa this year, and is not limited to official World Cup communication. Eligible entries can be flighted up to 13 July and all entries must be received no later than this date. All other entries must be flighted by 31 May. Although the special extension is provided, all entries received after 31 May will receive a 5% late fee.

According to Loeries CEO Andrew Human, this special extension has been introduced to promote the hosting of the World Cup in South Africa. “All entries will be judged in August and the winners will be announced in Cape Town at the Festival Weekend from 1 to 3 October. The committee felt that this was far better than only seeing the World Cup work at the end of 2011.’

The Loerie Awards will be hosted in Cape Town for the second consecutive year in 2010. The Festival Weekend will take place 1 – 3 October, with the awards ceremonies being held on Saturday and Sunday evening at the Good Hope Centre.  Tickets sales and accommodation bookings are now open, full details can be found on the Loeries website (www.theloerieawards.co.za).
