Cineuropa reports that Iceland is being inundated with foreign TV crews coming into the country to record footage of the erupting Volcano Eyjafjallajoekull. As a result, Icelandic film professionals, production companies and post-production facilities are enjoying a boom as they service the foreigners.

Iceland has been invaded by news crews from ABC News, ARD, Al-Jazeera and various other TV channels from around Europe.

Local production house Saga Film, in addition to servicing foreign news crews, is also producing two documentaries related to the volcanic eruption.

The Icelandic Film Centre has welcomed the surge of production activity.
