Advertisers will now be able to place “promoted tweets’ on micro-blogging website Twitter. The “promoted tweets’ will appear when users do searches on Twitter. The likes of Starbucks, Sony Pictures, Red Bull, Virgin America Airline and TV channel Bravo have already signed up for the service, according to The Guardian.
The “promoted tweets’ system will be similar to Google’s ad model, where ads pop up against search results. Some of the Twitter search pages will be sponsored and will be labeled “Promoted’.
