The International Wildlife Film Festival (IWFF) announced on Monday 5 April that South African filmmakers, Adrian Bailey and Robyn Keene-Young, had won Best Newcomer, as well as merit awards for Cinematography, Storytelling, Animal Behaviour, and Ecosystem for their film Swamp Troop. The IWFF is the world’s first and longest running wildlife film festival.
The film will be screened during the IWFF held in Missoula, Montana in May. Swamp Troop also received two awards at last year’s prestigious Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival in Wyoming.
The one-hour TV documentary, about a troop of baboons in Botswana’s Okavango Delta, was filmed entirely on foot by this husband and wife team. Swamp Troop is a co-production between the filmmakers’ company, Road Media and the National Geographic Channels.
