The new South African film, The Race-ist, was released on the local cinema circuit on 2 April and made R136,431 in its opening weekend. This placed it in sixth spot of Nu Metro’s Top 8 for that weekend.
Starring Craig Palm and DJ Fresh, The Race-ist was directed by Andrew Wilmot with the screenplay by Iain Paton.
The Race-ist is described as a story about triumph over adversity. A young boy learns a new word that to him has a completely different meaning which sets him on a journey. His whole life he dreams of becoming a champion. Opportunity knocks on his door and he grabs it with both hands.
