During the recent Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, 12 million hours of viewing time was logged by European Broadcasting Union (EBU) member broadcasters’ Internet sites and the EBU aggregated live video portal www.eurovisionsports.tv.
The EBU video portal alone enabled 14 million video streams to be viewed via its 38 channels, a total of two million hours.
EBU Member broadcasters made available some 6,200 hours of live content on the EBU portal. Average visit time on the video portal is 38 minutes per viewer (30 minutes for Beijing 2008) with each viewer watching an average of five different live streams each visit.
The EBU serves 125 national media organisations from 56 countries in and around Europe.
