Even if very few South Africans will have the privilege of attending the Oscar awards ceremony, South Africa will have a strong presence on the big night. Nominees for these prestigious awards will each receive a delicious South African chocolate bar wrapped in gold paper. This sweet congratulatory gesture has been organised by the Los Angeles Times.
The chocolate bars are from Chocoholic Impact, a small company based in Krugersdorp, near Johannesburg.
“The chocolate bars will be given to all the nominees, not just the ultimate winners, as a congratulatory token …’ said Chocoholic Impact owner Ray Esmany who started the company 26 years ago.
Chocoholic Impact sent 75 chocolate bars to the US on 15 February especially for the awards ceremony on 7 March.
