Leaders of the global satellite industry will be acknowledged on 13 April during the SatCom Africa 2010 conference and exhibition.
The SatCom Star Awards programme was launched in 2007 to identify and recognise outstanding new contributions to the field of satellite communications in Africa.
Honorees are chosen for accomplishments ranging across a broad spectrum of advanced satellite technology and business applications.
The awards gala dinner will be held in conjunction with the premier African satellite communications conference and expo where industry leaders will discuss key topics pertinent to Africa in satellite communications, telecommunications, defense & security, oil & gas and broadcasting.
The SatCom Star Awards categories are:
1. VSAT operator of the year award
2. African regulator personality of the year
3. Africa’s satellite personality of the year award
4. Best Skills Developer in Satellite Communications for Africa
5. Satellite service provider of the year
6. Best Satellite Broadcast Provider for Africa
7. GSM Backhaul Operator of the Year
The independent board of advisors will select the winners of the said categories according to strict criteria, whereby awards recipients will reflect the strong foundation and potential of the satellite industry for the African continent.
