The newly released romantic comedy, The Ugly Truth, starring Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler, was the biggest earner at the South African box office for the weekend of 9 to 11 October. It made R2.1m.
In second spot was the animated (including 3D) Up (which has now accumulated R12.4m after five weeks of release), followed by Final Destination 4 (also including 3d), The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3 and Fame.
Meanwhile, District 9 has dropped to 10th spot, after having amassed R9.4m in seven weeks of release.
