In yet another depressing example of recessionary cutbacks, Sony Pictures will hold off buying and developing source material until April next year. The Los Angeles Times reports that the studio will, however, still pay for priority and “highly desirable’ projects.
Sony’s move follows that of Universal Pictures, which is holding off on new projects until January.
