For over two years the budgets for German films have grown substantially thanks to the country’s federal film fund, the DFFF.
Cineuropa reports that technical operators have especially benefitted from the DFFF’s contributions.
A major spin-off of the DFFF’s support is that Germany is now attracting major international productions.
The DFFF’s has provided funding in the amount €60m per year since 2007, when it was launched.
Now if only South Africa had a national film fund of this kind…
