In another prime example of how the recession is affecting the industry, British- and France-owned advertising agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH) is to retrench 10% (ie. 40 staffers) of its UK staff.

In a report in The Guardian, Publicis Groupe, which owns 49% of the company, attributed the retrenchments to the decline in client ad spend.
BBH handles accounts such as British Airways, Barclays, Audi and ITV.
