In a massive opening at the South African box, the sixth instalment of the Harry Potter franchise, namely Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, made R7.4m.
The animated Ice Age 3 is not doing too badly either. After three weeks of release it has amassed a handy R20.8m.
Another big earner currently in the top five is Transformers 2, which has been on circuit for four weeks and made R16.4m.
Meanwhile, Bruno, Sacha Baron Cohen’s mockumentary in which he plays a gay Austrian fashion reporter, has made R2.1m after two weeks.
