Nature of Life which will premiere at the upcoming Encounters Film Festival is an epic documentary feature film which provides solutions to humanity’s greatest challenge yet – Global Climate change.  The film, produced by NHU AFRICA, takes an African perspective and looks at uniquely African technologies which offer solutions and hope.

The filmmakers, Damon and Craig Foster, examines the ground-breaking research done by Stellenbosch University’s Centre for Sustainable Energy  on ‘hot air’ farms which can power entire cities; Darling Wind Farm project – South Africa’s first renewable energy power initiative; Sky kites on super tankers;  viable eco-villages;  dye sensitized solar cells which enable buildings to generate their own electricity;  and South Africa’s own electric car – The Joule.  But aside from technologies, a shift in human behavior and consciousness is needed and Nature of Liferediscovers how indigenous African wisdom can hold the key.

Nature of Life, a 52 minute film will be screened at the Encounters Film Festival, Nu Metro, V&A Waterfront on Sunday 12 July at 20h15 and Sunday 19 July @ 18h30.  A Q&A session will take place on 19 July with NHU AFRICA’s Executive Producer Sophie Vartan before the screening.    Booking details are available on www.encounters.co.za, for more information on NHU AFRICA visit www.nhuafrica.com
