Regardt van den Bergh’s new South African film, Tornado and the Kalahari Horse Whisperer, made an impressive debut at local cinemas, making the number eight spot in the Combined Top 10 and the number four spot in the Ster-Kinekor Top 8. The film made R556,684 in its first week of release during 10 to 16 April.
The top five films for the same week were Fast and Furious, Monsters vs Aliens, Marley & Me, Dragonball and Race to Witch Mountain.
Oscar-winner Slumdog Millionaire is still in the top 10, having made R7.3m in six weeks. (Figures supplied by SAFACT)
