The number of IPTV subscribers worldwide will reach 53 million by 2009, according to research conducted by Infonetics. This will create a $44 billion marketplace for equipment and services.
At IBC2009, which takes place in September in Amsterdam, the IPTV Zone will bring together many organisations and technologies that are emerging as major forces in this new market. It will therefore provide a unique opportunity for application developers, content providers and technology companies to showcase their capabilities at the heart of the broadcast industry’s leading international conference and exhibition.
An accompanying programme of IBC Business Briefings will examine some of the issues and opportunities arising from the emergence of IPTV as a major force in more detail. Now in its third year, the IBC2009 IPTV Zone has been expanded in 2009 to showcase the key technologies emerging in this space and demonstrate enormous potential that exists in this sector.
The IBC2009 IPTV Zone, which runs from the 11th – 15th September 2009 at the RAI, Amsterdam, is being jointly developed and marketed by IBC, IT Europa and BPL Business Media. For more information visit www.ibc.org.
