As the race hots up for next month’s Oscars, there seems to be an endless run of awards events in Hollywood. The latest is the Producers Guild of America (PGA) Awards, announced in Los Angeles on 24 January.

Having already triumphed at the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild Awards, it’s no surprise to learn that the PGA judged Slumdog Millionaire to be best feature film.

WALL-E won best animated film and Man on Wire best documentary film. John Adams was voted best longform television show, with 30 Rock and Mad Men winning in the episodic TV comedy and drama categories respectively.

The Colbert Report won in the live entertainment/ competition category, beating out The Amazing Race.
