The new South African drama, Joshua Rous’ Discreet, made the number 8 spot in Ster-Kinekor’s Top 8 for the weekend of 14 to 16 March. This was the film’s opening weekend.
Another South African film, Jerusalema, was number seven in UIP’s Top 8 for the same weekend. It has been on circuit for 12 weeks and proved to be a real crowd pleaser.
As for the Combined Top 10 (ie. Ster-Kinekor, Nu Metro and UIP together), the top five earners are all Hollywood releases, namely High School Musical 3, Body o f Lies, Wild Child, Disaster Movie and Nights in Rodanthe. (Figures supplied by SAFACT)
