Red Bee to broadcast BBC Africa channels

BBC Worldwide Channels have awarded Red Bee Media the contract to provide playout services for four new channels launching in Africa, as part of the broadcaster’s ongoing expansion. From 1 September, BBC Entertainment, BBC Knowledge, BBC Lifestyle and CBeebies will launch in Africa on MultiChoice’s DStv platform.

BBC Entertainment will include programs such as Primeval, Gavin & Stacey, Jekyll and Life on Mars. BBC Lifestyle will showcase Grand Designs, The Baby Borrowers, How to Look Good Naked and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Shows set to air on BBC Knowledge include Gambling in Las Vegas, Under the Knife, The Most Hated Family in America, Earth—The Power of the Planet and Ross Kemp on Gangs. Set for broadcast on CBeebies are The Koala Brothers, Charlie and Lola and Me Too!
