With South Africa constantly trying to attract foreign productions into the country comes the news that American projects have been flowing into Britain, taking advantage of the plunge of the pound against the dollar.
The London Daily Telegraph has reported a 31% rise in revenue over the past six months and quoted Pinewood Shepperton Studios as saying that the UK’s tax incentives have played a big part in attracting American productions.
As of February this year, courtesy of the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI), South African now has an attractive financial incentive of its own to offer foreign filmmakers, not to mention an extraordinarily favourable exchange rate.
