Oscar-nominated, Palme d’Or-winning German director Wim Wenders (Buena Vista Social Club, Wings of Desire, Paris Texas, Palermo Shooting) will head the jury at the 65th annual Venice Film Festival, which runs from 27 August to 6 September.
Wenders won the Venice Film Festival’s top award, the Golden Lion, in 1982 for Der Stand der Dinge.
Burn After Reading, the latest comedy from Joel and Ehtan Coen, will open Venice. It stars Coen favourite George Clooney and his Ocean’s 11 franchise co-star, Brad Pitt.
