As a previous winner of the Palme d’Or for Pulp Fiction and as head of the jury in 2004, American filmmaker Quentin Tarantino is no stranger to the Cannes Film Festival. At this year’s event, which runs from 14 to 25 May, Tarantino will give the Cinema Masterclass lecture.
Tarantino joins an illustious list of previous Cannes Masterclass luminaries which include Martin Scorsese, Stephen Frears, Wong Kar-Wai and Sydney Pollack.
In his lecture, Tarantino will talk about his professional experiences as a filmmaker and screenplay writer. He once described filmmaking as ‘his favourite obsession’.
Last year at Cannes, Tarantino’s B-movie homage Death Proof played in competition.
