Following their best film wins at both the Directors Guild of America Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Joel and Ethan Coen’s “No Country for Old Men’ scored another win at the Producers Guild of America awards in Hollywood on 2 February. Starring Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin and Tommy Lee Jones, “No Country for Old Men’ is now the obvious front runner in the Oscar race.
“Ratatouille’ was the best animated film, with TV comedy honours going to the sitcom “30 Rock’ and “The Sopranos’ winning best TV drama.
Other Producers Guild of America awards included “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee” in the long-form TV category; Michael Moore’s “Sicko” in the documentary division; and “Planet Earth” won for best nonfiction TV programme. (Source: Associated Press)
