British public service broadcaster the BBC has reported that its plan to actively recruit minorities to take over senior staff positions at the network has run into opposition from Conservative polities.
The BBC’s decision to pursue this route comes after a study revealed that the number of minority executives at the network had dropped to very low levels.
On the BBC News website Conservative MP Philip Davies made the following quote: “This kind of approach is absolutely typical of the politically correct culture that dominates the BBC. Jobs should be given on merit, irrespective of ethnic background’. (Source: Studio Briefing)
