South African actresses will eat their hearts out when they hear how obscenely large Hollywood A list salaries are. Top of the Hollywood Reporter’s annual list of female earners is 31 year old Oscar winner star Reese Witherspoon (“Walk the Line’, “Rendition’) who receives a whopping $15-$20m per film.
Fellow Oscar winner, humanitarian and global sex symbol Angelina Jolie (“Beowulf’, “A Mighty Heart’), 32, is the second highest earner ($15m+). Jolie is followed by Cameron Diaz (“Shrek the Third’) at $15m and Nicole Kidman (“Golden Compass’) at $10m – $15m. Next are Renee Zellwegger (“Cold Mountain’), Sandra Bullock (“Miss Congeniality’) and Julia Roberts (“Erin Brockovich’), who hasn’t been on the screen since 2004. This trio are all in the $10m league.
Completing the list are Drew Barrymore (“Music & Lyrics’), Jodie Foster (“The Silence of the Lambs’) and Halle Berry (“Monster’s Ball’).
