Studio Briefing reports that a new law passed in the Canadian Parliament will impose jail sentences of between two and five years on anyone convicted of camcording films shown in cinemas.
The move was welcomed by the Motion Pictures Association of America (MPAA), which issued a statement saying camcorded films represent “more than 90% of newly released movies that end up on the Internet and on the streets’.
