Following the announcement by Warner Bros. that it will no longer preview screenings in Canada because of piracy, CanWest News Service reports that the Canadian government is planning to introduce legislation to make camcording in theatres illegal.
Meanwhile, according to the Ottawa Citizen, University of Ottawa Professor Michael Geist claims that such laws will not deter pirates as the US, where legislation is already in place, is “the largest source of camcorded movies”. (Source: Studio Briefing
