“You will be astounded at what this product can do,” said Colin Wainer of Inala Broadcast, referring to the Tektronix Cerify Automated Video Quality Control, which was introduced to the South African market at demos held at Inala’s Midrand offices during mid October.
Inala Broadcast, a division of Inala Technologies (formerly known as Broadcast Visions), is the local agent for Tektronix.
Dr Mark Nicholls of Tektronix Cambridge, UK was on hand to talk about Cerify, dubbed “the first fully automated video content verification system”. Cerify was introduced to the global market at IBC in September.
Said Nicholls: “Cerify is an automated system for checking/verifying file-based digital video content, prior to transmission or use, for news programmes or any other type of television programme. It is a new concept for the industry and checks all aspects of the video and audio in a consistent, configurable manner. The system also comes into play in video-on-demand applications. Basically, Cerify is a server which sits along other servers in the workflow so it can be networked.”
Tektronix’ Werner Klutsch was also present to demonstrate the Textronix WFM7000 and WFM7100 HD-capable multi-standard, multi-format Waveform Monitors. Read the full story in the November issue of Screen Africa.
