British television triumphs at Emmy Awards

British drama and comedy triumphed at the International Emmy Awards in New York on Monday night (21 November) with UK acts taking six out of the nine top honours.

Call for Fespaco 2007 entries

The NFVF has made a second call for entries for Fespaco 2007. The Pan African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO) takes place from 23 February to 3 March 2007 in Burkina Faso, Ouagadougou.

UK’s Ealing Studios enters new phase of £50m development

A consortium including Fragile Films and Manhattan Loft Corporation purchased Ealing Studios, the world’s oldest working film studio in the UK, in April 2000. The aim is to revitalize Ealing Studios both as a production facility and as a producer of films, as it was under Michael Balcon in the 1940’s and 1950s.

DIFF announces dates for 28th edition

Docusur International Documentary Film Festival, which took place in Tenerife, Spain. Docusur, which screens films made in Latin America, Africa, Spain and Asia, programmed a special South African section of 10 documentaries, covering a wide range of local directors.
