The movie which was produced by Tamsin Anderson and is Diprente’s third production following Blitz Patrollie and Catching Feelings, has delivered an amazing R57.7k screen average over 17 exhibitor sites and will look at increasing its national footprint within the coming weeks.

YOU all made this happen and because of the demand many more screens are being added on Friday. YOU all spoke and they listened.”

Celebrated stand-up comedian, actor and writer, Kagiso Lediga, who also wrote, directed and produced Matwetwe, shared his views on the amazing opening results: “It goes to show that the market is hungry for this kind of content. We are very pleased.”

Matwetwe was the No. 4 film at the South African box office for the weekend 25 – 27 January 2019.
