Software designers Rascular create PC-based video playout control and media management systems. Rascular’s applications work across SDI and IP technologies. This allows media companies cost-effective control and management across hybrid playout environments. User-defined screen layouts provide precision access to on-air and off-air third-party technologies. This gives operators crucial touch-of-a-button control of manual and automated media preparation and channel playout, be that IP or SDI.

New to showcase at IBC in Amsterdam from 9 to 13 July 2016:
Rascular’s flagship control technology, Helm, is now integrated with Elemental® Live, providing precision manual control of the software-based playout technology. Elemental Live provides real-time video and audio encoding for linear pay-TV broadcast and live streaming to new media platforms.

European debut for new Mediant/Mediant-AM:

Rascular has significantly upgraded its Mediant media management tool to provide improved secondary media handling for both broadcast and streaming playout. This includes the development of Mediant-AM (Automation Module), activated by a separate licence purchase. Mediant-AM adds a new level of automation to the media management process, automatically syncing secondary event media – including branding – that’s on the playout device with what the automation playlist requires. As with Mediant, it also provides conversion of assets into the correct format.

Mediant can currently populate the ImageStore range of branding devices and also Harmonic’s CiAB solution ChannelPort. It’s currently compatible with Imagine’s ADC 100 and ADC 1000 automation technologies with more integration to follow across both SDI and IP domains.

Helm Clockwork expanded:
Rascular has expanded the capabilities of Clockwork, an application within Rascular’s flagship control software Helm. Clockwork, which allows users to create scheduled events where simple or more complex ingest and playout operations occur automatically, now has inbuilt knowledge of event duration, providing far greater flexibility and allowing more complex use.

Rascular partnership with Harmonic:

Rascular will be highlighting its continued partnership with third party suppliers, including the use of Helm in Harmonic’s automation solutions, which control the Harmonic Spectrum™ media server and Spectrum ChannelPort™ integrated channel playout systems.
