SowetoTV announced that the Tonight with Tim Modise show has now
been extended to four days a week starting from 1 February 2016. The current
affairs/news magazine talk show covers a variety of topics from politics, economy,
business, community, personal development and personality interviews.
SowetoTV station manager Wandi Nzimande says the show has been on air for only
eight weeks but has created a buzz and interest among the viewers in Soweto and
across the nation. In the short timeframe (since launch) Tim has hosted a variety of
influential guests including the premier of Gauteng David Makhura, EFF leader Julius
Malema, the colourful Khabonina Qubeka and Khanyi Mbau as well as a host of
other prominent South Africans.
Tim Modise adds: “I am thrilled to be part of SowetoTV line-up as the station’s
vision is in line with my personal mission to help advance our national aspirations,
to help make a difference in our communities and definitely to share my
professional experience with my younger colleagues at SowetoTV.’
Chairman of SowetoTV, Meshack Mosiya says the new development will help grow
and diversify the channel’s audience of 3 million and has already generated interest
from other partners.
Mosiya says the channel has received enquiries from companies and sponsors keen
to participate in the show and will be making announcements soon. He particularly
singled out Fatima Vawda, founder of 27four Investment Managers for being the
first to forge a long-term relationship with the show.
Tonight with Tim Modise will air on SowetoTV (free-to-air in Gauteng)
and DStv 251 at 19h30, Monday to Thursday starting on 1 February 2016.
