The new CW-F25 Wireless HD Video System from IDX provides the flexibility
producers need to get the best shots back to base. The system offers exceptional
image quality, transmitting H.264 high profile video at up to 25Mbps. IDX is a
manufacturer and supplier of batteries, chargers, LED on-board lights, wireless HD
video transmission, power supplies and mounting accessories to the broadcast,
professional video, audio and portable electronic industry.
To maintain the resilience of the link, the system uses Dynamic Frequency Selection
(DFS) to automatically choose the best available WiFi channel. Beamforming
technology is also utilised between the transmitter and receiver, limiting
interference from other 5GHz users. In addition, adaptive variable bit rate prevents
sudden “black screen’ disconnection.
The system provides license-free operation and is certified for use in Europe. It
releases camera operators from having to use expensive licensed channel or cable
systems, providing creative flexibility through a cost-effective solution.
The new CW-F25 uses worldwide standard 802.11n technology. To mix seamlessly
with wired camera systems, four 4MIMO channels are utilised with ODFM/64QAM
modulation, achieving a maximum data rate of 300Mbps.
This supports H.264/25 Mbps high profile video with four channels of high quality
embedded PCM audio.
To ensure the camera operator feels part of the production team, return video,
intercom, tally and RS-422 remote control are supported over the link. Ethernet I/O
at both Tx and Rx creates a wireless bridge to support an IP camera feed, remote
controller or other data link.
