Lions Health, a specialised festival for the healthcare communications industry
which launched in 2014, will open the International Cannes Lions International
Festival of Creativity on 19 and 20 June. Cinemark, the local representatives of
Cannes Lions and its affiliates, is pleased to announce South Africa’s very first Lions
Health Juror: Andrew MacKenzie.
Based in Port Elizabeth and the executive creative director of Boomtown Strategic
Brand Agency, MacKenzie plays a key role in overseeing the creative processes and
outputs of Boomtown, ensuring a consistent delivery of high standard, award
winning creative solutions.
An expert in integrated advertising, MacKenzie has worked on dynamic brands
including Goodyear, Coca-Cola, Volkswagen, Audi, Avis and Unilever but finds
delivering solutions for the health sector particularly rewarding as the benefits
linked to the campaigns often answer the needs of society.
Cinemark’s Yvonne Diogo says, “Lions Health is a festival that was launched in
2014, it is highly specialised. To have a South African sit on the jury in the
elementary stages of the festival makes a statement about the global status of our
Health and Wellness industry. We look forward to working closely with Andrew to
share the learnings gained in Cannes 2015 with the communities locally.’
Inspiring creative bravery that changes the course of communications, this year’s
Cannes Lions, made up of Lions Health and Lions Innovation, will run between 21
and 27 June with registration now open.
