Thema, a distributor of pay TV channels, and French subscription satellite, cable, IPTV
and DTT service provider Canalsat have entered an agreement to broadcast the
African fiction TV channel Nollywood TV for the first time on satellite. Nollywood TV
will be broadcast on Canalsat, channel 39, via satellite, ADSL and on the web.
All Canalsat subscribers will be able to experience the channel until 31 March. It will
then be available for €4 a month or within the Grand Canalsat offering. Moreover, the
channel will be made available in French-Swiss via Canalsat Suisse within due course.
Nollywood TV is edited by Thema. The channel has established itself as the home of
French-dubbed Nollywood films within less than two years, and is considered the go-to
channel for all Africans and Africa lovers. This position will be strengthened by the
exclusive agreement signed between Thema and iRoko.tv, to provide some 200
films/year to Nollywood TV.
