The ninth season of Big Brother Africa (BBA), due to launch this Sunday 7 September
2014, has been postponed after the purpose-built Big Brother house burnt down
on Tuesday, 2 September.

The house – located in Highlands North, Johannesburg at Sasani Studios – had
already been furnished in preparation for this Sunday’s launch and was equipped
with close to 200 cameras and other production equipment.

Organisers of the show state that the cause of the fire is still unknown.

M-Net and Endemol have stated that they are urgently looking for an alternative
house in which to film the show, however due to the highly technical infrastructure,
camera and edit requirements an alternative is not immediately available.
