Cartoon Network (DStv channel 301) has announced the return of two popular
shows: the Emmy award-winning, The Powerpuff Girls as well as
the 5th season of Adventure Time.
On Saturday 23 August, the channel featured a 30 minute special titled
Powerpuff Girls: Dance Pantsed and has announced that the show
will return to the network in 2016. According to the DStv website Rob Sorcher,
chief content officer of Cartoon Network said, “The original Powerpuff
Girls was a franchise phenomenon for Cartoon Network, paving the way
for a new generation of innovative storytellers and enthusiastic fans worldwide.
We are calling these girls back into action based upon an overwhelming demand
for sugar, spice and Chemical X.’
Fans of the show will also be happy to know that there is an all new
Powerpuff Girls app, Defenders of Townsville, which is available on
iOS, Android and Amazon.
The new season of Adventure Time runs until 31 October 2014 and
appears every Monday to Friday at 16h35, with repeats on weekends at 08h20
and 12h05 on Cartoon Network.

Fans of the show can visit the Adventure Time It’s Party Time
microsite where they can play the specially created Adventure Time game and fill in a competition form to stand a chance to win an exclusive party for themselves and their friends, including a viewing of one of the new episodes with character Finn. Second prize will be a limited edition of Adventure Time skateboards designed by Verb available in-store from October, and third prize – a Cartoon Network goodie bag with great Adventure Time merchandise.
