Pay-TV operator MultiChoice Africa has launched an initiative to inspire Africans’
participation in in community enriching projects. The campaign, Africa Rising, was
initiated with the release of a song, composed and performed by six top African
artists, titled Rise Up.
Nico Meyer, CEO of MultiChoice Africa says, “MultiChoice Africa has an important
role to play in both the economic and social transformation of our continent and
we believe that this campaign provides the ideal platform to showcase
meaningful change amongst the people of Africa.’
The artists which collaborated on the track include Nigerian American recording
artist Davido, record producer Diamond Platnumz , Tanzanian recording artist
Sarkodie, Ghanaian hip hop artist Tiwa Savage, Nigerian performer Lola Rae,
and South African band Mi Casa.
The campaign, which presents noteworthy stories of people who have
succeeded and improved their lives as a result of the company’s African
initiatives, is part of MultiChoice’s commitment towards social and economic
transformation on the continent as well as their creating shared value
philosophy.
