2014 Sir Peter Ustinov Television Scriptwriting Award Call for Entries

Each year the Foundation of the International Academy of Television Arts and
Sciences administers the Sir Peter Ustinov Television Scriptwriting Award. The
competition is designed to motivate novice writers under the age of 30 outside
of the United States and offer them the recognition and encouragement that
might lead to a successful career in television scriptwriting.

The competition is now officially open to any writers who are not United States
citizens and who will not yet have reached their 30th birthdays by 31 December
2014. Entrants are required to submit a drama script, which must a minimum of
30 minutes in length and a maximum of 1 hour. It can be written in any language
originally but must be translated and submitted in English. The winning
scriptwriter will be flown to New York City and presented with a US$2,500 prize
at the International Emmy® World Television Festival on 22 November 2014. The
winning script will be read by actors in front of an audience at the Festival, and
the winner will be invited to take part in the red carpet festivities at the 42nd
International Emmy® Awards on Monday, November, 24.

The deadline for submissions is 1 July 2014. Additionally, anyone interested in
participating as a juror or who knows qualified individuals who might be
interested in judging submitted scripts from young writers, should email the
International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Foundation at
