Ian Gabriel, director of the acclaimed, hard-hitting drama Four Corners, and
producers Cindy Gabriel and Genevieve Hofmeyr, announced that the theatrical
release for the movie, based in the Cape Flats, has been scheduled for 28 March.

“This gives us more throttle to stretch the film to its full potential, and continue the
momentum of our nationwide awareness campaign to reach South African
audiences,’ says Gabriel, who comments that his coming-of-age thriller will take
audiences “deep into the harsh realities of the unique and volatile gangland sub-
culture of the sprawling Cape Flats, and despite the gritty nature of gang warfare,
at its heart is an inspirational sense of hope and possibility.’

South Africa’s Official Entry in the 2014 Oscar® Best Foreign Language Film
category, the film received positive reviews following its Oscar campaign screenings
to Academy voters.

Says Cindy Gabriel, “Although we weren’t ultimately nominated for an Oscar® we
received the enormous honour of recognition as an official entry.’
