International network, storage and connectivity providers, Infortrend® and ATTO Technology, have teamed up to create high-speed 16G Fibre Channel (FC) solutions, which include the Infortrend EonStor DS 3000 series and ATTO FC switches and HBAs. Together, they provide support for optimized 4K ultra high definition (UHD) streaming and enhanced reliability when working with new Mac OS 10.9. The solutions are ideal for entertainment, media, and audio/video content creation industry professionals who want to increase workflow efficiency in tasks such as media editing and large block streaming.

The phenomenal growth of high resolution content in recent years has created an increased need for faster, more efficient, and more scalable enterprise storage. Media outlets and content creators are looking for high performance and more reliable storage to meet the challenges of their production and post production processes, especially the ability to consolidate storage elements and content types to reduce streaming bottlenecks. Thanks to joint Infortrend and ATTO 16G FC testing and compatibility assurance with Mac OS 10.9, customers gain access to previously unavailable capabilities such as editing multiple 4K UHD streams simultaneously. The solutions power advanced performance media streaming applications that add support for the highest resolutions and frame rates.

Infortrend technology is very popular with the entertainment and media sectors due to the performance and value it delivers. Notable examples from around the world are the Digital Film Festival in Spain, Digistor from Australia, public broadcaster S4C of Wales, and Stream.ru from Russia.

“For over 25 years, ATTO has reaffirmed their commitment to the high-performance market by supporting next generation technology. Working with Infortrend to leverage innovations for the 16G Fibre Channel ecosystem is further proof of our commitment to deliver innovative storage and network connectivity solutions that solve the toughest challenges facing organizations both today and in the future,’ said Wayne Arvidson, VP of Marketing at ATTO.
