Palestinian directors Cherien Dabis (May in the Summer), Jinan Coulter (Searching
for Saris), Mais Darwazeh (My Love Awaits Me by the Sea), Areen Omari and Rashid
Masharawi (Palestine Stereo) are showcasing their films at this year’s Dubai
International Film Festival (DIFF).
Movies depicting the experience of Palestinians both in Palestine and abroad are
gaining visibility on an annual basis, despite production challenges.
Celebrating this achievement, DIFF opened the 2013 festival with Omar,
Palestinian director Hany Abu-Assad’s new feature.
