‘Rivers’ run deep on E! network
The second week of June will see legendary American comedian Joan Rivers of Fashion Police fame infiltrate the airwaves of E! (DStv channel 124) to celebrate her 80th birthday. Rivers will make appearances across the E! network’s shows.
There will also be extra episodes of Fashion Police and a special black-tie celebration filled with surprises for Rivers.
For five days next week, commencing 11 June, Rivers is set to bring her notoriously unfiltered comedy to all areas of the network. Special on-screen birthday messaging will air during the week.
Every Friday night millions of fans tune in to Fashion Police to see Rivers and co-hosts Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana Rancic and George Kotsiopoulos dole out a weekly dose of the biggest moments in fashion triggered by Hollywood’s major events, fashion mistakes and the most talked-about pop culture happenings.
Throughout Rivers’ birthday week, E! will air a brand-new half-hour episode of Fashion Police every night from Tuesday through Friday at 22h00, commencing 11 June and culminating with a special full hour birthday salute on 15 at 22h00. The half-hour special episodes will feature guest appearances by celebrities, friends of Rivers and even some victims of her scathing critiques. There will also be a mystery guest from Rivers’ past who will stop by, forcing her to identify the person by asking them fun and crazy questions.
The shows will be packed-full of Fashion Police Rivers-themed games, including the popular Guess Me from Behind, featuring derrieres that share a birthday with her. The comedy icon will also take a stroll down memory lane by playing Guess the Dress Decade, where her Fashion Police co-hosts must guess which decade each of her gowns are from. Rivers’ birthday week will conclude with ‘the party to end all parties’, a full one hour episode of Fashion Police where black-tie attire is required.
Rivers will make special daily appearances on E! News, where she’ll fill in as audio director, news anchor, wardrobe stylist and cameraman. She’ll also have a surprise for Joel McHale during the 15 June episode of The Soup, and will even stay up very late one night to invade the set of Chelsea Lately. She will insert herself into all facets of the network including popping up in moments on some of the network’s most popular series.
E! is a division of Universal Networks International.
